cell within each layer, while a heat flux from below produces a smaller scale turbulent motion. The interfacial phenomena described here are also somewhat similar to the "interfacial turbulence" observed by chemical engineers during the process of solvent extraction (Sherwood and Wei4), but the mechanisms are quite different. All their observations relate to the boundary between immiscible solvents, and the motion near such interfaces has been explained in terms of the variations of surfa( tension with concentration or temperature.

Occasional cell cultures made from chicken embryos were resistant to infection with Rous sarcoma virus (RSV). A virus was isolated from the medium of these cultures that caused sensitive cultures to become resistant. This virus belonged to the avian lymphomatosis group. Other viruses of the group also induced resistance to infection by RSV. Thisprovided the first assay in vitro for leukemia vir...
متن کاملtrans-activation of the simian virus 40 enhancer by a pX product of human T-cell leukemia virus type I.
A trans-acting factor, p40, of human T-cell leukemia virus type I profoundly potentiated the function of the enhancer from simian virus 40 but not polyomavirus and Rous sarcoma and murine sarcoma viruses. This trans-activation was seen in a limited repertoire of cells, in contrast to trans-activation of the human T-cell leukemia virus type I enhancer by p40.
متن کاملInduction of murine tumors in adult mice by a combination of either avian sarcoma virus or human adenovirus and syngeneic mouse embryo cells.
Primary murine Rous sarcoma was produced in adult mice of seven strains, C57BL/6, DBA/2, BALB/c, C3H/He, CBAJ, AKR, and DDD, by s.c. inoculation of a mixture of 5 X 10(6) chicken tumor cells containing Schmidt-Ruppin Rous sarcoma virus and 9- to 12-day-old mouse embryo cells (MEC) (2 X 10(6) ) of the syngeneic strain. The sarcoma developed at the site of injection in almost all mice tested, but...

Background and Objectives: The molecular genetic of the human herpes virus 8 (HHV8) has now been characterized the pathogenesis of kaposi sarcoma (KS). This study attempted to determine the rate of HHU-8 infection in KS in an Iraniann cross sectional study. Method & material: In this cross-sectional study, we used paraffin-embedded specimens of 54 clinically well-characterized kaposi sarcom...
